The 1,100th anniversary of the founding of the Abbey of Cluny in Burgundy, France presents Scotland with a chanceâ€inâ€aâ€lifetime to be part of wonderful panâ€European celebrations. They started in Cluny in September 2009 and will reach their climax there in September, 2010. The Cluny 2010 Scotland Joint Organising Committee set up a programme of events which took place between 14thâ€16th May, 2010 centred on Paisley Abbey, Renfrewshire and Crossraguel Abbey, by Maybole, Ayrshire.
Although our week-end of celebrations has now passed we are still maintaining contact with the Cluny network. A 46-strong group from Renfrewshire and Ayrshire will visit Cluny in September for the climax of the celebrations.
