Scotland’s Cluniac Heritage Conference

A conference to mark the 1,100th anniversary of the founding of the monastic Order of Cluny in Burgundy.  Leading historians and archaeologists will present papers on various aspects of monastic life around the abbeys of Paisley and Crossraguel and consider French influences in Scotland from the 12th to 16th centuries.

Historic Scotland Technical Conservation Group will present the digital socumentation of Rosslyn Chapel and other similar projects.

Tony Grace of UWS Ayr will display information on the Great Drain of Paisley Abbey.

Information will be available on Project Gunzo and the proposed digital documentation of Crossraguel Abbey by a team from ENSAM of Cluny. The display will include a short film of the digital documentation of the Abbey of Cluny.

Tom Addyman will give a lunchtime presentation on latest archaeological revelations at the Place of Paisley.
